Strange Things Are Happening...

Remember the post I posted with fear-mongering and blatant tin-foil hat wearing messages? Let's continue the little trail to some weird truths, starting with a great little explanation of what is happening in Canada with our Prime Minister.  Don't watch the video at the top since everything he says is in the text and he himself discredits the information, but the information is good.

Basically, Harper got a prorogation, and you can read his statement in the National Post.  Before I get into what this means, he basically made all the other parties he is supposed to work together with really angry by cutting all their funding unfairly.  Because he never does anything accidently, he wants to make them mad and they wanted to have a vote of no confidence to get him out (like in Star Wars: The Phantom Menace when Queen Amidala calls for a vote of no confidence in the chancellor).

So Harper managed to get permission to discontinue parliament without dissolving it.  He has 6 weeks to call parliament back, during which time has some power.  If something 'happens' in Canada he will have the ability to make some military decisions without parliament's approval, a vital step since the majority of Canadians are against the SPP (the Security and Prosperity Partnership). The theory is that during this window of opportunity, an event will happen which will allow US troops on Canadian soil through the SPP.  This is the same timeframe outlined in the post I wrote above which said "February of 2009" and the same timeframe Colin Powell said a crises would occur on January 21 or 22 of 2009.  In the interest of making sure this quote wasn't taken out of context, here it is with a bit of the surrounding interview, with the best part at 2:40:

It is interesting to note that he just threw that into the middle of the conversation - nothing before, nothing after.  A totally unrelated comment that had nothing to do with what he was saying.

So, at the risk of more fear mongering, all I want to say is that there are those in power with little regard for the people and North Americans need to be alert during a critical time period that really is a window of opportunity.  They may or may not take it, but with many wondering if the economic crises is a carefully orchestrated play for power,  it doesn't seem unlikely any more, does it?

Umm, don't you think he was just responding to Tom Brokaw's hypothetical question about dealing with a crisis on Barack Obama's first day in office i.e., Jan 21st?
C'mon, there's more than enough fear in the world already - why stoke it with speculation like this?

That said, I want to tell you that I have your book and am an avid reader of your blog - keep up the good work!
John

Is that what he is referencing? Seems his statement is a bit more definitive then that.

Just curious.

I am also an avid reader, and my name is also John.

To John #1 - I think it depends on where you're from. Canadians are freaked way out about this as it's an unprecedented move by a Prime Minister and his timing couldn't be worse.

Also, the meaning Powell's quote may be uncertain but to be fair I didn't post the cut and edited version out of context. Still the fact remains that he says it's going to be a crises, whatever he is referencing.

It's just horrible timing for the whole thing and I think genuine concern can sometimes be worthwhile. I love weeding out the real conspiracy in the midst of the paranoia, lol. Sometimes it works.

Also... it's always nice to have an AVID reader. Thanks!
